Special Guest Hosts: The Party Kingpin QuickSilva, Tony Lewis Jr. (author/activist), Sherrell and Alfred Duncan (cast of Love & Marriage: DC/mental wellness advocates), Dr. Vanessa Weaver (CEO of Alignment Strategies, host of “Workin It Out with Dr. Weaver”, hold master’s and doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology.
Our WHY? To gather mental health professionals and advocates in support of the Dr. Robin J. Hailstorks Scholarship fund which will provide financial assistance to minority students pursuing careers in the mental health profession.
About Angie Ange: From Talent to Power! Angie Ange is a nationally syndicated radio personality turned media executive and businesswoman. From 2007-2022, Angie was the voice of DC via Radio One’s 93.9WKYS before leaving to pursue executive leadership and investment ventures. A proud graduate of Howard University, Angie’s passion for community, education, and entrepreneurship has led to the creation of the nonprofit College Is Cool, Inc., and multiple investments in local businesses, most recently co-owner of Miss Toya’s Creole House in Silver Spring, Maryland. Angie currently serves as Director of Content at WHUT- PBS HOWARD UNIVERSITY TELEVISION. Angie has been and continues to be an advocate and community connector in arts and business.
About College Is Cool, Inc.: College is Cool is a nonprofit organization founded in 2008 by nationally syndicated radio host turned media executive Angela “Angie Ange” Hailstorks. College Is Cool began with programming throughout DC metro area schools utilizing the arts to emphasize college prep and career exposure for students. College Is Cool now focuses on advocacy for first-generation and other college students in need of guidance and preparation along their collegiate path, and fundraises to help keep students in college up to their graduation date.

About Dr. Robin J. Hailstorks: A Washington DC native and pioneer in psychology education, Dr. Robin J. Hailstorks held prestigious positions at Howard University, the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Prince George’s Community College. Dr. Hailstorks was also the Associate Executive Director and Director of Precollege and Undergraduate Education for the American Psychological Association Education Directorate. In 2023, Dr. Hailstorks passed away, but her legacy will live on through this scholarship fund and beyond.
